Well it's ages since I did a post in here, my course is going well, but I need to make beads again too, so have decided that after xmas I am getting back to it properly, all work and no play are making Mandy a dull girl. Started getting christmassy too, put the tree up and have actually now started shopping! It's snowing too, which is unusual for Liverpool, looks lovely out there, but glad I'm inside. xxx

Not been blogging much! Very slack of me..will get back to it..been so busy lately with bead making, decorating, studying, and life thast I don't seem to have a spare minute.

Beads today

Well after the sewing bug has had hold of me for a while...I am finally back at the beads....new heater has warmed the shedio up enough for me to venture out. Had a play with implosion beads yesterday, great fun and lovely results, so it's more of the same today, hopefully better as I learnt a few little tricks along the way yesterday.....
My first proper doll is gorgeous will post pics in a bit....very pleased with her, she's called Viola, and is the first of many I think. It's very satisfying to sew, something incredibly relaxing about it. Be back later....M xxx

Been absolutely ages since I blogged...the snow has put a stop to my lampworking, it's sooooo cold in the studio that I have had to go back to my second love which is sewing :) Doing well though, made some pretty cushions and a lovely doll, actually loved making the doll and may get more involved with this lovely craft. Planning to get back out to the bead shed soon though, have lots of ideas swimming around, so can't wait to try them out.

Winter Market in Liverpool

I will be attending this event as a stall holder...can't wait...lots to do but very exciting. Hope it's really busy, there are carols and mince pies and general christmassyness so it should be a lovely day!

I probably won't come out of the shedio now for a fortnight!!! lol

Beads from yesterday!

Had a go at key beads, these are a bit of a revelation to me, I have always loved fancy keys anyway, and often pick unusual old keys up from different places, now that I can add glass to them it takes them to a whole new level! only made 2 so far but love it. also been making more organic beads, using silvered glass to good effect too in the new torch..so here they are anyway

Goodness me, I have been away from my blog for ages! Been exceptionally busy trying to organise my stash of beads for a potential Christmas market eeek what have I got myself into? also been slowly but surely learning how to make bead again on my new torch setup, think I have finally found the secret, at least the beads are coming out nice and round now so that's a start eh? Been trying my hand at key beads too, and very nice they are too....all will be revealed very soon. Anyway another day in the studio beckons, after I have walked the dog and done some surfing......lol

Catwalk today!

Going to see my gorgeous girl strut her stuff on the catwalk at Circo in the Albert Dock later.. she has been doing 4 or 5 shows a day this week and is absolutely shattered..bless her...she hides it well though.
Been ordered to take the camera with me :) and get on the front row, wish me luck with that one, I can't run in heels :)

Busy week!

Had a super busy week this week with one thing and another...hardy any torch time at all. Going to make some prototypes today see if they work out....

Off to Ikea for beds in a bit, exciting! but got my gorgeous little niece and nephew staying on Saturday night, so it's popcorn and disney films all day....can't wait.

Had a great time in Stafford as I knew we would...can't really go wrong if the wine and conversation are flowing eh?
Oh and it was sunny too...bonus :)

Have spent yesterday and today on a big clear out mission, got loads onto ebay, will miss all my jewellery making stuff, but hopefully I will get into the silver smithing soon, and will be able to replace it. Thing is it's pointless keeping things you won't use again isn't it? May as well go to a good home, and it all helps the lampworking kitty too.

Had a nice day today so far, like having a clear out, seems to clear your head out too!
Off to the shedio to be creative.....

Lovely day of shopping to lok forward too with my luvverly mummy and sister :)
Can't wait to spend a day away from the house and the studio...lol, refresh my mojo by going out and seeing a bit of the world....ok the inside of shops...same thing!

Have filled the kiln with odds today, just testing a few different styles out to see if I like them,
Made more nice twisties, I like making them, it's therapeutic,

So I have diddled about, made a lovely(I hope) dinner, and now I am on here....typical Sunday really!
Finally found a new screen for my poorly laptop, and treated her to a new keypad too, cos the r is missing and driving me nuts :)
So hopefully the poor old thing will be good as new next week, wahey!!!

Oooooh, was making twisties, decided to have a go of a bead, and ended up making 2 whole sets today, fingers crossed they will be ok....I think the wind must have inspired me, as the shedio was rocking..:)
It still is, proper gale force winds here, bit scarey actually.

Well off to watch strictly, and drink muchly from my cup of wine...( it's a glass really) and eat lots of choklit!

Stringer and cane!

Decided to spend the day making stringer and twisties, it might help me find my mojo, if not then at least I will have plenty of supplies for when it finally comes back off its holidays! lol

Windy today, very autumnal indeed, I love Autumn, it's my favourite season by far :) Hope my studio doesn't blow away, cos I will be in it, and that would be bad ;)

Mojo gone....so shopping instead!

Lost my mojo yesterday....made poop on sticks...so having today off in the hope that it helps :)
Went to Ikea, I like Ikea, and would like to live there hehehe, bought slippers! and candles, nice combo, then headed for the Birchwood shopping centre and found it, woohoo very pleased with moiself for that. Got some lovely bedding and came home and now I am having a cuppa and debating going down to the studio to find my mojo :)

Well it's dreary outside, but I don't care! Making jewellery today, and getting the beads made for a commission piece! woohoo, I love having a commission, no stress, just sort out my colours and off I go to glass melting heaven! ( won't be long Lez )

Need to tidy the studio too, it's getting a bit messy, finished late last night, and didn't have the will to clean all the rods and stringer up...naughty girl :)

Ok coffee and toast are calling, then off to work (if you can call it that) I go!

Have had fun today, been in the studio for about 4 hours, and made 5 beads!!!! work that one out, cos I can't. Lets hope they are nice at nearly one an hour! lol

Having pizza takeaway for dinner too, because I have lost the will to cook :)

Think there is footieball on tonight, so I might go back out and have another go
